BIO SUISSE - Switzerland

BIO SUISSE is a private association of top Swiss organic agriculturists. Almost all Swiss organic productions take part in this top association, about a 11% of all Swiss agricultural productions.

This organization identifies its products through a trade mark that represents a controlled organic production called “Knospe” (bud). Those organic products identified with the Bud have a 60% of market share in Switzerland .

OIA is accredited by Bio Suisse for entering products to Switzerland .

BIO SUISSE allows its brand to imported products if they comply strict conditions referred to market policies as well as technical and organic standards.

If you wish to certify under this program, please take into account the following :

They only import products that are not produced by their agriculturists or those that they produce in insufficient quantities .

Air transport is prohibited.

The product transformation is carried out in Switzerland , only if it is a possible and sensitive operation.

The product flow is strictly controlled (they test each product traceability from the primary production to end).

Above all, it is very important to respect BIO SUISSE production standards and before attempting to comply them, the producer must comply with the European Union standards .

CAAQ- Quebec, Canada
Started in 1998, the Conseil des Appellations Agroalimentaires du Québec (CAAQ) is the official authority to handle and monitor protected organic food designations in Québec.

OIA has been endorsed by CAAQ since 2003.

Every product purchased to be marketed in Quebec must be certified by a certifying body endorsed or accredited by CAAQ. The legal name of the certifying body appearing in the label and the label itself must comply with regulations according to the Act of Québec (A20.02) that protects organic designations.

JAS - Japan
The certification procedure for organic products in Japan ( JAS : Japanese Agricultural Standard ) has been in force since April 2001. Since then, Argentina has requested the standard equivalency, which was granted in 2006. Presently, only the European Union, USA , Australia and Argentina have standards equivalent to JAS.

Argentina has obtained the equivalence with Japanese organic standards, which means that any product certified under Argentine standards can enter Japan directly, without any re-certification by a Japanese certifier, as happened in the past .

OIA has been introduced to the Japanese Government and approved by SENASA to issue certificates destined to Japan.
