OIA Brazil announces Bonsucro Sugar Better Care Initiative certification

It was recognized for audit the Standard Bonsucro in Argentina and Brazil.

Sugar Bonsucro ® Better Care Initiative is a partnership of multiple stakeholders created to reduce the environmental and social impacts of sugar cane, through the design of a standard and a program to transform the industry.

The Standard match Bonsucro objective, which is to provide a mechanism for achieving sustainable production of sugarcane and its byproducts. Bonsucro Standard incorporates a set of principles, criteria, indicators and verifiers that are used to certify producers of sugar cane.

The Standard guide companies in the value chain of sugar and ethanol. In this way, it will be possible to purchase sustainable raw materials, as well, supplies. Another objective of the Standard Bonsucro is to guide the financial sector who wants to invest more sustainable.

From OIA Brazi, the technical director, Jose Wagner Amaral Neto, and the director, Xico Graziano, expressed their enthusiasm for this new challenge and invite the whole community of OIA to know about this new certification.
