Landa: "The certification allows to appropriate the value added generated"

Pedro Landa, Director of OIA, emphasized in different TV interviews the importance and implications of being certified, as well as the work of MAPO and Cacer.

The Eng. Agr. Pedro Landa, Director of Organización Internacional Agropecuaria, was interviewed on the past 27th of October in the TV show “Clase Ejecutiva” by Canal Metro. "It is essential the certification: it structures, orders, organizes. It is a key of access to markets", said Landa. He said that the Standards try to build a fair level playing field where everyone is guaranteed to meet a minimum. “They guarantee a management model”, said.
 
Pedro Landa, who also chairs the Cámara Argentina de Certificadoras de Alimentos, Productos Orgánicos y Afines (Cacer), commented: "The value added through third party certification is an integral link in what has to be the argentinian quality and image value, is what the markets demand". The Eng. Agr. Landa stressed that the Southern Cone countries must make alliances as suppliers to other markets.

Moreover, the Director of OIA was interviewed for Campo y Tecnología, TV show broadcast on the 13th of November in CN23 cable signal. In the framework of the XII OIA Annual Meeting, Eng. Scaramella interviewed Landa, stressing the twentieth anniversary of OIA, to which Landa said: "20 years of OIA means being able to respond to dynamic changes as well, means to have been accompanied by a luxury team".

He stressed that the success of OIA is also due to "the overall growth in the sector, with support from the public and private sector, and especially to producers who have been supporting us and reward us with their recognition".

Pedro Landa, also President of MAPO (Argentine Movement for Organic Production), said that "the organic trend is anywhere near a rational production system, you have ways to produce without using chemicals". He said that today the consumer is concerned and has a foundation from which to rely upon. "More elaborated is a product, more risks are incorporated", said.
