The Argentinean province has a noteworthy position in this production, counting with a favorable situation due to the increasing global demand for organic products.
Mendoza is the second organic producing province in the country. According to Senasa, 232 of the 1856 Argentine establishments engaged in this production correspond to Mendoza. Organic production is covered by a provincial law to promote an organic product, which sets stringent performance standards.
The wine is first and had a 20% growth in production, with a current total of about 1000 certified organic hectares and 15 warehouses dedicated to the production. In the case of garlic, the plants are in Lavalle, Maipu, Rodeo del Medio, San Carlos, San Carlos and Uspallata. Note that once harvested the garlic, pumpkins can be planted, also with organic certification. On the other hand the olive production is growing steadily, as well as the honey, which increased over 30% last year.
